We have a reception at the motel but it is not staffed all day. Someone is usually on site and we are always a phone call away for any queries or difficulties getting into your room. We now have an easy self check in system so check in is fast and reliable. Excellent for late check ins.
Parking is available out the front of your room on Cahill St & Golden Four Drive. There is a 4hr limit from 9am to 5pm meaning you can park from 1pm til 1pm the following day without incurring any parking limits. If you are staying longer, you would need to move the car through the day. Check with reception if you are uncertain or have any queries.
Check in is at 2:00pm. If pre-arranged, we can have your room ready earlier and/or you can leave your bags at reception. Early check-ins are subject to availability.
Checkout is at 10:00am and your luggage can be left at reception with no fee charged. When you leave your bags, confirm your return time. Must be before 4.00pm. If reception is unattended, call the phone number on the door for help. You can always use our beach towels and vintage bicycles and return them in the afternoon.
Opposite La Costa Motel, there is a 24hour garage which sells smaller items. The closest Woolworths is at the Strand at Coolangatta – a 35min walk or 10 min bus ride.

There are a few options to get to Brisbane airport:
- Catch the 761 bus to Varsity train station then the express train direct to the airport. For times and costs of public transport visit https://translink.com.au/
- There is a company called Con-x-ion which can pick you up from the motel and take you to Brisbane Airport. https://www.con-x-ion.com/
Shuttles run daily to and from La Costa Motel with Byron Bay Express.
We have a firm no pet policy with the exception of service animals.
Because our motel was originally built in the 1950’s, the building codes were different back then. Unfortunately the motel is not accessible. There is three steps to all rooms. If you have mobility concerns, please email us.
Yes, yes, yes. You can purchase a Gift Certificate by calling the motel or sending us an email. We can email it to you or send it snail mail.
