Coolangatta Estate wines are now available at La Costa Motel – bringing a piece of our local history to your door while you stay with us!

So how did Coolangatta Estate wines get here, to our little retro Motel in Bilinga just 5 minutes from the famous town of Coolangatta, named for the ship that became wrecked off our Southern Gold Coast shores?

We recently took off on a little roadtrip holiday and found ourselves in the New South Wales town of Berry – where the ship ‘Coolangatta’ was built in 1840.

This ship was used for transporting goods up and down Australia’s east coast, but six years later it was wrecked off the coast of Point Danger on August 18, 1846. The town was subsequently named Coolangatta.

When looking up where to go on our roadtrip, it was this piece of history close to home that saw us drawn to the beautiful town of Berry and the Coolangatta Estate winery.

And of course, we had to ship some of the wine home!

Coolangatta Estate wines are now available at the motel – ask us for a bottle of their award-winning Semillion for lovers or white, or delicious Cabernet Sauvignon for the red drinkers.

Try these fabulous wines and enjoy a little piece of local history with a stay at La Costa Motel!
